Here’s a reminder of the wonderful University of East Anglia 'Snowflakes' film from 2020. It's a film that fought back against the media-enflamed teenage snowflake rhetoric. It's a film that celebrated the resilience of young people everywhere as they fought their own battles, not just with the pandemic, but with disadvantage, expectation and pressure. And it's a film that reminds us all just how precious, yet vulnerable, and different everybody is. Unfortunately, the ‘snowflake’ rhetoric as flailed to melt away, and there’s still a lot we can do to champion youth.

The film created its own snow-storm within organic social media with thousands of hearts and shares amongst the private stories on Instagram. It also won numerous awards, including two golds at the Heist Awards in 2021. It was a hugely deserved entry into our Retro Index and one that should be a constant inspiration for everyone tasked with inspiring and supporting young people out there.
